new design

I was chuffed and surprised to have been listed in Lars Holst’s list of well designed blogs recently. Just as i was pleased to have been nominated for an Aussie Blog Award for the site design.
So what does one do when people seem to like your design? Change it of course!

the fabric style

So I’m introducing a new design called fabric. You can switch over to the fabric design by clicking here or using the style switcher drop down thingy on the right.
The idea for a fabric style came after i picked up a copy of a great little UK magazine called Marmalade. The whole magazine is embroidered, then photographed. It’s a beautiful and original concept.
Inspired by the magazine i enlisted the multi-talented Amanda to craft me a hand stitched Boudist heading. The heading was sewn into some denim, along with a white sheet of paper. That was then scanned and i created a new stylesheet. Through the magic of CSS and a style switcher you can choose out of three different styles for the blog. No practical purpose of course, but good practice for me.
The fabric design isn’t the default yet, but i’ll probably make it that way soon unless I hear any major objections.
