While i was in Brighton, Jeremy took me to a little pub called Freebutt to see a band who he enticingly described as "Swedish riot grrrls". He wasn’t wrong, the band (called Disco Volante) consisted of three striking young Swedish girls (plus the obligatory male drummer) who belted out proper punk rock tunes. The crowd certainly got into it with some good old fashion skanking and slam dancing going on down the front.
I didn’t catch the support acts name, but they were some eye candy for the girls with a singer looking like a punk Gael Garcia Bernal.
See some more shots in the Disco Volante photo gallery.
UPDATE: Speaking of Brighton, i just uploaded my photos from my day and a bit there. It was during the annual Labour Party conference so there was lots of security all over town plus the odd protest. Most of my time was spent with the charming fellas from Clearleft and the lovely Jessica.

I’m sorry Dan, but in a single stroke you have just alienated your entire female readership with your wanton disregard for catching the name of this band………wrack you memory boy!
I don’t like to alienate my most valuable demographic so i did some research (read: looked up the gig listing on the Disco Volante site). I think that support act was called Da Capo. Kinda lame name and there’s nothing i can find out about them online.
Love that first photo. Your rock photos are always my favourite.
