Elmo and Rob and I saw U2 last night at Madison Square Garden. It was phenomenal. So many spine chilling moments, a fantastic set list, a stunning venue and stage show, U2 still full of fire and gusto after all these years. Elmo describes the show better than i could and U2tours has the set list.
It was so sweet to be there with elmo. We met about 10 years ago after my sister told me she had a friend who was a bigger U2 fan than me. I couldn’t believe this to be true and when i met her i remember quizzing her on all manner of U2 trivia and decided that she was indeed a certified U2 nut. Since then we’ve become best mates, with or without U2. But it was very fitting that we should be united to see them play together in New York, a city that’s very close to both our hearts.
In the post show euphoria, walking around Times Square in the rain, i couldn’t help but reflect on how sweet life is.
I hear that U2 is expected to tour Australia in March, so hopefully we can do it all again in our home town next year.
best shots ever, boudie.
wow, that’s an amazing shot. Long time no visit and love the new layout. it’s such a romantic shot that conjures up images of NYC in the early decades of 20th century (like those detective movies!)
“with or without U2”
Classic.
Gorgeous shot Dan, and a really lovely post, from the heart. Life is indeed sweet, and you’ve really captured the moment.
I cannot remember how I first stumbled upon your blog earlier this year. Your photography is getting better and better. Its pretty darn awesome. btw, thanks for the pop77 link a while back.
Glad you had and Elmo had a life-defining moment there.
I wish I could’ve hung out with you more in London.
Come back to London! Now! I have time and I’m not pimp my ass ebay my camera poor anymore.

Yep, i’m the dude with the freakishly long finger.
I am in love with the first photo. I wish I had the motivation/patientce to teach myself how to take great photographs.
Hey, I’m too a U2 fan! They are brilliant, man. Loved your photos! When I become a film director I’ll use you as my DP. What do you say? I’m still on early stages… give me 2 years xx
