  3. Don’t think i’ll be getting a media pass. They’ve been really tight with the guest list. Tis a shame as i’d love to photograph it.

  4. The most dissapointing thing about it was that so many people jumped the queue. I was 200th when i arrived. So that’s about 100 people who must’ve pushed in.

  6. Dude that bites, I was a few ahead of you talking to Nicholas, but we managed to get one. Twas fucked up when everyone dashed ahead.

    I was going to get there at 6am but I had my work Xmas party last night and woke up at midday today, lucky I didn’t

  10. they should have come out and given the first 300 a number before opening the doors! i was 140th in the cue when i got there at 3.30 but when i got my tix she said she only had 20 left! and then my car got towed so i got a parking fine of $175 and a towing fine of $150 so it became a $375 ticket to see the strokes!

  11. I am surprised that no one has mentioned the band is ONLY playing songs from the new album. It would be great to see them at a small venue but it would be frustrating to not hear your favourite tunes.

  13. Luke, i spotted you a little bit in front of me in the line. That sucks about your car getting towed.
    I think The Strokes will play more than 8 songs. In Japan the other day their setlist was apparently:

    evening sun
    15 minutes

    last nite
    reptillia
    So mainly all new stuff, but a couple of classics to round off the night.

  16. I just met the strokes today. not really a fan, so itr was probably a waste. i gave away the tickets they gave me too. didn’t know they had such a rabid following

  18. Oh i didnt see u, u should have come over and i would have let u in!! it sucks u didnt get one, i mean there were whiny girls around me who got tix and said they werent even real fans!!!

  22. It was a freaking stunning gig.
    So great to see them in such a small venue. I’ll be uploading some photos I took from the top balcony to my flickr page in the next day or so. i got some video aswell so I’ll try and get that uploaded somewhere to.
    I think triple j did a recording of the set so keep an ear out for that one.

  23. awesome!! they were on at 9.30 and finished at 11.10. sound was great! crowd was rowdy! security were bastards! people crushed during juicebox! cameras and phones confiscated! cool t-shirts 4 sale! 8 photographers in the pit at a time and were only allowed one song and they changed over 3 times! Great gig! Hot, sweaty and loud!!!

    I was the second last person to get a ticket(girl with the curly hair).I saw you(think you were reading a book in the line) and felt your pain,if only they had a few more! i got there at 4 and people who were behind me at 4 were way ahead at 9!
    So many people pushed in which pissed me off. i should thank my lucky stars for getting one in the end.
    Jus letting you know that i felt your pain. Damn people who push in! What goes around comes around heheh

    this is going to be really random and out of place but im pretty sure u might have been the guy behind us in the line when u first showed up.
    im not sure what u look like but i have a feeling it was you, i am an indian girl and my friend had short hair, you came in and we minded yr spot for a bit at the start when u went to count how many ppl were in the line infront of us? we were so lucky because we got one of the last 5. i actually felt really bad for you cause i knew u should have got one. so many ppl pushed in at the end. i actually wanted to apologise cause two of my friends sat with us prob half hr after u came? i think we got there at 5.30am. ish.
    anywyas if it is you im pretty sure i saw you taking photos of the go team! at the bdo on thurs. am i right?
    its funny cause i had been looking at yr site before then and stuff. and its only now that it occured to me this might be you.
    on the other hand i could be totally wrong. but if im not let me know. add me to lj if u have one or send me an email! sorry this is a really long message!
