U2 return to Oz

I hope i get a better spot when u2 play in Australia

It’s official, U2 are coming to Australia in March next year. The dates announced are:

Tuesday March 21 Brisbane Queensland Sports & Athletics Centre
Friday March 24 Melbourne Telstra Dome
Tuesday March 28 Adelaide AAMI Stadium
Friday March 31 Sydney Telstra Stadium

I wouldn’t be surprised if some cities get two shows. Tickets go on sale December 5th and are $99 for general admission and up to $199 for reserved seating.

Having seen the tour in New York last month i can vouch for its brilliance, even from the back of the stadium. Here’s a little snippet of video i took of the last moments of U2 performing With or Without You at Madison Square Garden (.mov, 720k). Sure it’s a crappy little video, but it kinda conveys the spectacle of a show that size with tens of thousands of people singing in unison.

Here’s hoping i get a better spot this time.

  3. Wow… I actually got chills watching that. Which is sad because I will probably never get to see them 🙁 even though I’ve been obsessed since about the age of 7.

  5. Woe is Perth. We have no venue worthy of U2!
    Which gives me all the excuse I need to plan a holiday in Melbourne or Sydney next March…

  6. I echo Si’s comment about Perth sucking the big one. Noone, besides Delta Goodrem, wants to come over here and play some rock’n’roll. Dammit.
