Bluejuice recording


The other week i spent an hour or so in the studio with Bluejuice. They were recording a song for an album they hope to finish soon.


I’ve not really spent much time inside a recording studio, and while there i kept thinking of one of my all time favourite photos. It’s John Lennon expressively conducting over the mixing desk for his young son Sean. So simple but so sweet.


But back to Bluejuice – in order to fund the rest of the recording they’re playing a show next Friday at The Hopetoun. It’s $20 and for that you get a great live show plus a copy of the yet-to-be-recorded new album. I assume they’ll be taking down names and addresses or something.


They’re supported by The Paper Scissors who i keep hearing good things about.

And in Bluejuice related trivia, did you know Jake, the main vocalist was arrested on stage last year by undercover cops for wearing a police shirt? It’s true, here’s the video of the bizarre incident (.mov).

    Why not just give him a warning after the gig?
    I dressed a kid in one last year for a drama performance at my school!

  4. Saw these guys last Friday at the Hopetoun and they rock!
    They’ll be sending the album out to everyone there, so I’ll get to listen to the tracks you photographed them recording. Funny world…

  5. Oh cool! Glad you enjoyed em. I didn’t make it myself but i heard stories of Jake crowd surfing around the room.
