Last weekend i went to Rose Seidler House with Belles Will Ring to take some photos. Here’s a quick preview, i’m still sorting through the rest. I took a some on real black and white film too, but they’ll take some time to develop and scan.
It was a perfect location to photograph the band, a house that’s remained largely untouched since the 60’s, rather like the psychedelic pop music Belles Will Ring create.
Their label Architecture has done the savvy thing by releasing their new single Mad Love (mp3) to local music bloggers first. The Coldest Heart (mp3) from their Demonstration disc is also worth a listen.
The live launch of the single is happening at Spectrum on November 10th. The album will be out early next year.
I’d be going to the launch gig but a certain Irish band is playing a show that night at Telstra Stadium.
Nice photos there Dan, they look like some cool promos.. Bloody Irish bands disturbing the peace…sheesh..
Savvy indeed. I hadn’t heard the band but I’m liking them now!
I love Rose Seidler House. We used to have art excursions there because my school was close by. The fifties fair they have there is great too.
I wasn’t expecting much but on first listen they really blew me away.
If you like their stuff, a similar band to check out is The Fields from the UK.
BTW nice photo(s) Dan… Her dress blends/contrasts well with the wall. Was this on purpose or did she just happen to wear the dress on the day?
I think the dress choice was just by chance. It was a good choice.
Thanks for posting the new track!. I’ve been waiting to hear something new from these guys for a while now. It’s a toe tapper.
Nice photo.
diggn the ol’granny retro orange picnic thang. nice work boudist. bb
that’s a wild background, i love it!
you always stand me up for that irish band. it’s ok i understand, we’ll just have to swap gig revues when i next see you.
thanks for the mp3s!
