There’s a festival of events starting in Sydney this week called Vivid Sydney.

It includes:

  • Luminous, a music festival curated by Brian Eno
  • Fire Water, a firey spectacle on Sydney Harbour
  • Creative Sydney, a series of workshops and performances from the creative industries
  • Smart Light Sydney, a series of light installations around Circular Quay and The Rocks

It’s a bit like a yuletide Sydney Festival.

These pictures are from a preview of five of the Smart Light Sydney works. It opens properly tomorrow night with over a dozen spectacular light installations all a short walk from each other.

It’s like Sculptures by the Sea except it’s Light Sculptures by the Harbour.

They make for great pictures, so if you’ve got a tripod, head down and practice your long exposures.

I’ll be back for more once the whole series is turned on.
