I’ve never really done ‘fashion’ photos as such. But when my friend Rosey asked if i wanted to help out for her fashion project i thought i should give it a shot.
Rosey’s begun making clothes under the name Six-Gun Saga and was putting together a submission to be a contestant on a new series of Project Runway. The photos would be used in her audition piece.
The shoot was all very lo-fi. We shot it one evening at Rosey’s family home with a crew of three; me, Rosey and our model Caroline. Caroline’s actually a professional photographer, not a model by trade, so this was outside of her comfort zone too.
One of my favourite shots of the night was an off-the-cuff shot of Rosey’s nephew and niece.
love the off-the-cuff shot mate.
same, love the last one especially but wasn’t it a bit late for the kids? I know, over concerned parent…
Awesome Dan, love them. the shot of Rosey’s nephew is so good, go on spill the beans on how you got that light behind them…
@tim – it wasn’t late, i think that photo was about 8pm.
@justin – the light behind them is just that – a light behind them. It’s on a very long extension lead from the house. There’s also a smoke machine creating the smoke.
i LOVE the horse one!!!
Hi Dan,
Mesmerizing shot of your model with the horse. It is a very silent though intense picture. I like the effect of the light falling on your subjects together with the darkness of that almost surreal forest.
Emmanuel
Daniel these are really great for an off the cuff effort – I like them a lot!!
Thanks Dan
