During the filming of Empire of the Sun‘s video for Without You i took a few snaps of (Emperor) Luke Steele.
In the tradition of their previous publicity shots, they went through the Debaser illustration process to come out in this fantasy fashion.
One of the shots also made the single artwork cover.

What happened to the other half of the Empire…Nick?
Good question. From what i can gather, only Nick knows why Nick isn’t playing much of a part of Empire of the Sun these days.
There’s some quotes from Luke on the matter here.
I believe he’s still officially a member of the band – but isn’t playing any role in the live show or promotional duties.
