Sad news about the death of veteran journalist Peter Harvey.

I had the pleasure of meeting him briefly in 2008, to take his picture for a feature in Time Out.

I remember feeling very intimidated before the shoot at Channel 9 studios. Me, a 20 something still learning the ropes, photographing THE most authoritative voice in Australian news.

But he was the perfect gentleman as i fumbled my way through it, doing my best to hide my nerves.

I’d have done things differently in hindsight, and i wish i’d cracked his stoic exterior to get some options that revealed his less serious side.  But them’s the breaks, i’m glad i had the opportunity to get what i did.
